The Boston Business Journal today confirms that local news outfit WBZ-TV has shit canned 30 employees.

While the station refused to go into detail on the firings, they did not refuse to answer the BBJ reporter’s questions with a fine example of the say-nothing, empty-calorie corporate garbage that makes sane people everywhere want to tear their eyeballs out:

WBZ-TV (Ch. 4), which is owned by CBS Corp. (NYSE: CBS), began making cuts among its staff this morning, spokeswoman Ro Dooley Webster said. Webster said she couldn’t comment on the number of cuts that were made.

“There were layoffs at WBZ today as a result of our restructuring for efficiency and streamlining our operations while maintaining quality programming and servicing the community,” she said.

In related news, cutting-edge Web site Pax Arcana announced today it would continue efforting market leadership by leveraging out-of-the-box, fast-track strategies for rightsizing our value-added deliverables… while maintaining quality programming and servicing the community.
