Jay-Z slaps Noel Gallagher

Pax Arcana

A few months ago, Oasis douchebag-in-chief Noel Gallagher shared his thoughts on the Glastonbury Music Festival’s decision to have Jay-Z headline one of the stages, and in the process showed the forethought and mental acuity that has kept Oasis so relevant for so many years:

“Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go ‘Kylie Minogue?’ I don’t know about it. But I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.”

As shown in the below video, Jay-Z responded appropriately enough. To paraphrase, the man’s got 99 problems but Noel Gallagher ain’t one:

Obviously Jay-Z hasn’t been taking singing lessons. But that AC/DC version of 99 Problems is frickin’ rad — as the kids say.

  1. Perry Ellis

Stoopid Utoob took that damn video down. Those jerks have like 100,000,000 problems.

  2. Replacement video is working now. This thing is like whack-a-mole right now.

  3. Wonderwall is a great song and Oasis is a great band. And that’s coming from an indie lumberjack. So don’t come to me with this “overrated British bands” shit.

  4. I think you’re hallucinating again.

I agree that Wonderwall is a good (not great) song. I think Don’t Look Back in Anger is genuinely great. And the What’s the Story Morning Glory album is good. But those cocky assmonkeyfuckers (patent pending) haven’t produced nearly enough good work to support their monstrous egos.

Do I think they’re overrated? No. But mostly because people seem to have pegged them pretty much the first time.
