Friday Random 10: Inky Dreadfuls Edition

Pax Arcana

You know what the art world needs?

More fantastical images of turn-of-the-century toddlers both committing and suffering from vile acts of unspeakable horror.

That’s why I’m glad I found Inky Dreadfuls, a line of pen on board drawings by artist Michael Mararian. Fraught with equal measures cruelty and hilarity, I could look at these things all day. Here is one of my favorites:

Check out the rest here.

The songs:

This Low — Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
NYC Man — Lou Reed
Polly Come Home — Robert Plant and Allison Krauss
Sons & Daughters — The Decemberists
Be Less Rude — Frightened Rabbit
Silly Crimes — The Tough Alliance
Everybody’s Got Their Own Part to Play — Shannon Wright
Us V Them — LCD Soundsystem
You Left the Water Running — Otis Redding
Strange Times — The Black Keys

Bonus Video:

Time to Pretend — MGMT (Because even Fallen Angel likes this song…)

The Rules: The Friday Random 10 is exactly that — random. We open up our iTunes, set the thing on shuffle, and listen to 10 songs. We are not permitted to skip any out of embarrassment or fear of redundancy. Commenters are encouraged to post their own.
