Remember the Raelians?
If you forgot, the Raelians are the bizarro UFO cult that claimed to have successfully cloned a human baby in 2002. Their founder is a former auto journalist from France who dresses like a space ninja and claims he was visited by the alien scientists who created life on earth using DNA.
I don’t know why I was thinking of the Raelians this morning, but I thought I would do a little poking around since their cloned baby would be in second grade by now. I didn’t find any pictures of the clone baby, but I did learn that while you can take the Frenchman for a space donkey ride, you can’t take the casual racism out of the French donkey. Or something. This is from their own Web site:
On the 13th of December 1973, French journalist Rael was contacted by a visitor from another planet, and asked to establish an Embassy to welcome these people back to Earth.
The extra-terrestrial human being was a little over four feet tall, had long dark hair, almond shaped eyes, olive skin, and exuded harmony and humor. Rael recently described him by saying quite simply, “If he were to walk down a street in Japan, he would not even be noticed.”
Except he would be the only one not texting or buying panties from a vending machine! Those Japanese are wacky amiright?
