Friday Random 10: Desert Creature Edition

Pax Arcana

I consider myself a tough guy. I am so tough, in fact, that I once had a bunion removed and went back to work just three weeks later. Another time I almost slammed my fingertips in a car door but barely shrieked.

I once went swimming in the ocean at night.

The only things that scare a tough guy like me are zombies, robots, and whatever the hell this thing is:

According to the Gulf Times, the above picture was taken by a woman near the Doha Corniche in Qatar:

The report is based on the statement of an Arab expatriate lady who said she had seen the strange figure near the Oryx statue while walking in the area. Quoting the woman, the daily said she took a picture of it in spite of being terribly frightened.

“She was very soon surrounded by a large number of people who also attested to the fact of what she had seen . But it suddenly disappeared out of their sight when they tried to go near it,” the report added.

My team of cryptozoologists are busy researching the creature, but in the meantime I have issued a strict travel warning for Qatar that reads: DON’T GO TO QATAR.

The songs:

Black Wave/Bad Vibrations — Arcade Fire
Your Heart is an Empty Room — Death Cab for Cutie
There Will Be No Divorce — The Mountain Goats
Speak For Me — Cat Power
Charmer — Kings of Leon
Unresponsive Ears — Army Navy
Pop Song — Starfucker
Elemental — A.C. Newman
The Wedding — Cold War Kids

The Rules: The Friday Random 10 is exactly that — random. We open up our iTunes, set the thing on shuffle, and listen to 10 songs. We are not permitted to skip any out of embarrassment or fear of redundancy. Commenters are encouraged to post their own.
